maybe I'm racist, but I prey to god this never ever happens. you'll have these american cacs who never cared for the nba before coming out the woodwork and hailing him as the white MJ, Kobe, Lebron or Magic. The league needs a white American star though, even if he gets vastly overrated, it helps with popularity of the league. The fact that there's been such a long gap between when the last great white American player retired and now says one should at least be on the way.

They seem a lot more athletic, and it ranges so many different countries in Europe that maybe it's because they start out playing Soccer.

I don't think the Euro is being phased out, maybe there will be a lapse between superstar players, but they continue to send top 10 draft picks to the league. This kid is supposed to be top 5 in next years draft -

European system kind of demands that a player learns how to shoot and is able to be somewhat decent with the ball, that combined with the playing style/plays they use involve a lot more touching for everyone and less isolation/hero ball than the US game. Oh also the goaltending rules automatically require bigs to be more active around the rim and in general - they are just a product of their system in my opinion

That doesn't explain the mobility difference in wing players though, like Alexey Shved, Evan Fournier and Nando De Colo all have better footwork and agility than pretty much all the American white wing players in the league that are around the same height.

And while Manu is from Argentina, he did develop in the Euro league, and looking at his gigantic nose he's clearly Italian descent. Plus, he grew up with soccer, I'm starting to think that soccer might be the underused key to being great at basketball.

A dynamic white PG with rondo like abilities(and aj umpshot) or a dominant big white oaf in the paint, or a triple threat white wing with grace and stunningly sound fundamentals and shooting mechanics would go a long way in adding to the increased popularity that the league is experience now..
