we've been through this already. We told you what we thought, Coli men rejected it and TOLD US what we really think (:mjlol: how the fukk yall gonna tell me what im thinking??), the end. Whenever these questions of what women are thinking when we react to certain things are posted and we women tell you why, colimen always think they know the mind of a woman better than a woman does :snoop:. Then proceed to continue doing what annoys us, get a negative response in real life, and make threads to questions that have already been answered by us ie. this thread. Lather, rinse, repeat

Females is reductive and arguably offensive because it strips humanity from a gender... like @Matt504 said a female could be animal or vegetable, a woman can only be human.

The real kicker is whether it's routinely used in a positive way - "These females..." is pretty much guaranteed to have a negative comment after it. Men saying it is hardly like white people using the n-bomb, but it's on the same road.

It's rare that a group of men will be referred to as "These males...", more likely "These men", "These guys" etc which shines a light on the double-standard.

took the words right out of my mouth....the equivalent of female isn't "man" its "male" and almost NO one would call you a "male". OP.

When it comes to women, apply the inverse and see if you would be offended or if ANY man would be offended and you can see where the privilege is.

"Female" outside of scientific conversations is almost never used in a positive context, its loaded language. And its not "faux outrage".

If if I ever heard a woman refer to men as "males" I wouldn't object to it because that assents ally is what we are. It doesn't imply that we aren't human. Now if she said "these male dogs" that would be dehumanizing. In a nutshell they are called females because that's what they are and there is nothing dehumanizing about it.

tbh it's how you use it and it's usually with a negative tone
personally i don't care but I can see why ladies get upset about it.

even if you don't care, at least you can see why other women would be upset about it, as much cannot be said for a lot of the men baffled about why women are upset.

This is pretty much what xyz77 has said but honestly even if you say women in the context of a smart ass remark isn't it as just as "disparaging" I don't see how saying females makes it come across as any more degrading.

I don't but if I refer to someone as a nikka and they tell me they would prefer not to be referred to as such, I'm not going to continue calling them a nikka.

stark contrast to:
I don't call women females to their face, only when I'm discussing them with other men. It's not something to be offended about anyway tho

the fake outrage of our era is crazy.. people just for the sake of it LOVE to argue over a bunch of irrelevant things... one girl said being called 'female' is demeaning like tf.. how ?

social media gave a lot of people the power to air out their dumb opinions
I swear. Folks like to complain about the silliest, least important things now a days
