Instagram blocked in Hong Kong
nahh. I'm on it right now looking at pawgs and thots :shaq:
it's probably blocked in China. As usual they often block shyt that shows the truth. But Hong Kongers originate from Guangdong Province, in China, and news will spread like fire. Trust me, the people know.

The irony of upset residents in Ferguson, being labelled thugs and looters because they want justice, yet this will probably be played out in the media as people fighting for their freedom against an oppressive government.

Funny how that works huh :sas1:

The question is, are you ready to label our govt. oppressive...:sas2:

.

Mainland Chinese students come to our universities and receive tens of thousands of US dollar's worth in grants each while local students struggle. They are often loud, often low class, hate us for living a better life. They are seen as a nuisance.

Everywhere I go, all I hear and see is complaints and hatred for the mainlanders.

It is still beautiful now, but it is tinged with the smell of lower-class citizens dirtying our place.

:mjpls:
the way non-HK, poorer residents(especially the Filipino maids) are treated is pretty disheartening. one of my coworkers who grew up in HK told me seeing successful Filipinos in America is :scusthov:to him.

To be honest, I like seeing others come up. Regardless of race or colour. It's just that the flow of Mainland Chinese is so relentless.. you can't help but develop resentment a little bit :/
Your co-worker sounds racist :scusthov:
I still hold hope for my people from across the border.. but what their government is attempting with us, ties directly with our experiences of them. And it's mostly negative:manny:

The contrasts disgust me. It's despicable how colour affects humans like that.

Are people in Hong Kong responding to government tyranny by looting weave and rim shops though?

I'm a Canadian living and working in HK right now. On the island where the main protests are happening actually. Pretty crazy but the numbers are getting bigger and the people are really standing up for their rights for an autonomous HK government which was promised to them.

Might go join the protests after work tmrw. Wed and Thurs are BOTH public holidays here so look for alot to go down then.

I understand the resentment of Mainlanders and mainland influence totally after living here but the treatment of Phillipinos has always seemed real :mjpls: to me. The rich here are pretty elitist.

So these people would rather be ruled by the British than their own. Because I didn't see them protesting when the British were in charge. Not to mention the fact that Hong kong belongs to China. It's part of China and they have every right to reclaim their territory.

On the other hand I do understand why they might want some form of democracy compared to mainland China, but at the end of the day the Chinese have every right to reclaim whats theirs.
the british modernized hong kong and they feel they're better than the chinese. i know of a hong kong dude online who sounds like he's straight from england and talks down on china and talks good of japan.

but china don't wanna hear none of that freedom shyt.
and just like scotland, the uk and us will sit back and watch or help china put hong kong back in check.. so what if a few ppl die..
