Not sure if we've had a thread about the recent goings on there but it's blatant that the officials their have completely sold out to Beijing. Just seeing alerts this morning that protestors stormed the parliament there over what's been happening.

Today was also the 22nd anniversary of Hong Kong becoming a part of China. That added extra fuel to the China extradition bill protests.

Eventually it’s going to be another much larger Tiananmen Square. Unavoidable. Many of these people were old enough to remember what life was like before Chinese takeover. But there’s no way Chinese will roll over.

The Tienanmen Square anniversary was like a month ago IIRC. The Guardian podcast touched on how you get locked up for even mentioning the massacre and how they have government official scrubbing any mention of it online and any hashtags that are used to get around the censors.

It could be a blood bath but hopefully everyone bands together to stick it to them for it.
