Ive been telling people the next flashpoint is China...they are trying to take total control over Hong Kong despite promising a one country two systems method, and are trying to make Taiwan, a democratic country that claims independence, a subject to the same system which they obviously don't trust as you can see with that China is trying to do to Hong Kong.


Xi Jinping made himself president for life, has been literally building islands in the south china sea, which is smack dab in the middle of international shipping lanes, is bullying smaller countries out of their territorial holdings in the sea, and Chinese military officials are openly threatening to invade Taiwan if they dont submit to China.

This law is basically to establish a procedure for extraditing criminals to places outside of hong kong, like any country with an extradition treaty. It is to ensure that people who commit certain crimes outside of hong kong cannot hide in hong kong. If you look at the list of 37 crimes that can get you extradited to china, it is for crimes that would land you behind bars anyway like murder rape etc. The HK court would also need to approve it prior to extraditing. What it doesn't allow for is the extradition of vague political crimes.

This isn't any different from other extradition treaties with any other countries. There's so much anti-chinese sentiment here and the western media in general. Also, since when do most people cared about anything outside of their neighborhood anyway, let alone hong kong.

What does this have to do with Hong Kong again? Like you're listing out all the negatives when the main issue is this hk thing. You can do that with any country no?
