Hope Solo will be the #1 for the USWNT until they find someone who is comparable, or until Hope is terribly bad. The career span of a GK can last well into their 40s....

I ain't going to front, they shouldn't have suspended Hope Solo, which was pointless in the first place. And then to terminate her contract It's just an unfortunate situation all around as she's one of the best goalkeepers in the world but unfortunately she's had a history of questionable conduct which caught up to her. She clearly has a lot left in the tank, but she's 35. If I'm a betting man, I think that Jill Ellis will decide to move on from Hope Solo due to the negative press that she brings to the team. I'll say this right now, if she decides to do that, they are not winning the next World Cup, period. She's won the last two Gold Gloves for being the best goalkeeper in the World Cup. Having the next goalkeeper come in and take her spot is too much to ask. Ugh....I know brehs in here ain't too much into women's soccer but this is a big blow for the US Women's soccer team in my opinion.

They are only suspending her for 6 months now because they have nothing coming up. Olympics are over and the World Cup is a long time away.

She should have been kicked off the team for assaulting her sister and underage nephew, but U.S. soccer needed her at the time so they just slapped her on the wrist. Imagine if the NFL waited until after the season to suspend someone? All hell would break loose.
