I ain't going to front, they shouldn't have suspended Hope Solo, which was pointless in the first place. And then to terminate her contractIt's just an unfortunate situation all around as she's one of the best goalkeepers in the world but unfortunately she's had a history of questionable conduct which caught up to her. She clearly has a lot left in the tank, but she's 35. If I'm a betting man, I think that Jill Ellis will decide to move on from Hope Solo due to the negative press that she brings to the team. I'll say this right now, if she decides to do that, they are not winning the next World Cup, period. She's won the last two Gold Gloves for being the best goalkeeper in the World Cup. Having the next goalkeeper come in and take her spot is too much to ask. Ugh....I know brehs in here ain't too much into women's soccer but this is a big blow for the US Women's soccer team in my opinion.
I agree with everything you said, except for the suspension part. They needed to suspend her. Hope went too far! She embarrassed the USSF and showed her classlessness all at the same damn time. Yeah, the timing is suspect, but Hope forced the federation's hand with her behavior.
Plus, Sweden's coach is the former USWNT coach and was responsible for making our team the #1 women's team in the world. Just on that, they were going to issue an sincere apology and punish Solo.

I see where you're coming from. Hope has always been a person that wears her heart on her sleeve so if she sees something that she doesn't like, she's going to call it out. Same situation happened when she talked about the 4-0 game in the World Cup against Brazil back in 2007. It just sucks as she's just a tremendous player but just can't hold her tongue. I like it in a way as everyone is trying to be politically correct but at the same time...Dang man. If this is her last time playing for the US Team, what a bad way to go out.
She mentioned that she'll fight it so we'll see. The bigger question now is would the players on the team even welcome her back after what has transpired? That is what I'm more curious about.
