She told me before the procedure, she had to take classes for a month or two and lose a certain amount of weight.

The doctors wanted to see if she was serious and had the discipline to behave in a way that would ensure that the procedure actually worked.

Doctors not wanting to perform procedures on people that may have an increased chance of failure isn't new.

People who receive organ transplants are put on immunosuppressive drug to fight immunogenic organ rejection. They would become immunocompromised and more vulnerable to Covid.

Nothing controversial if you know how donor process works. They always have to consider survival rate. Organs can't be wasted and they have to go to people with highest probability of survival.

These are the types of situations people don't consider that could occur when they make their choices.

I think all people who smoke, drink alcohol, dont sleep 8hrs a day, eat red meat, are diabetic or have a higher than 2500 calorie intake should be taken off the list as well.
