I remember hearing about an incident like this that involved a brother being left on the steps of Piedmont Henry Hospital in Stockbridge, about 20 miles south of Atlanta. This happened around 2004 or 2005, a year or two before I moved down here. They wouldn't accept him in the emergency room because he didn't have insurance. So they left him outside, and he died on the steps. So this really isn't anything new. Not being here when this happened, I don't know if he wound up outside because they told him to leave, or if they physically removed him. I wouldn't be surprised if it was the latter, and they had the guards do it...and those guards won't hesitate neither, especially those Black guards, even after they become their friend in the waiting room. That's a sickness by itself :unimpressed:
That’s a federal crime btw. Hospital would be in hot water with Feds and would lose funding. So I think the story is missing some pieces. Cant turn ppl away from ED for no insurance…I’d wager most ppl showing up to the ED either don’t have insurance or if they do it’s terrible

they don't care bout you man

when my sister was in the Hospital for cancer and she was to far gone so they stopped treatment and we had to decide to send her to in home or at a facility f hospice

my sisters daughter was at the hospital with her and she called me to talk to the nurse/ doc (i dont remember who but anyway) in the room at the time to try and figure out next steps

they got on the phone with just no regard for the situation just "yea yall need to figure something out we cant keep her here"

i know its a hospital and they need to free up rooms but fukk man theirs a right way and a wrong way to talk to people and that was def the wrong way
if i was there it would of been a problem :francis:

Some patients need hospice :manny:
Patients can get better care with hospice rather than care that is intended to prolong life and further suffering. All of this is dependent on the health, age, and mental capacity of the patient…..nothing worse then being forced to prolong 90 year old demented grandma so she can die a week later.

There are good people working in hospice

BTW HCA sucks

@Trust Me im well versed on the concept of rationing end of life treatment. It’s more or less, how it’s being phrased. It pretty tactless.
