Snoop was selling more than biggie and 2pac combined up until all eyes on me
Me against the world was Pac's break through where everybody recognized him as the best hip-hop artist at the time him being in jail during the albums run hurt his sales a lot all eyes on me it was solidified. I wasn't just talking about sales anyway. If that's the case Hov was never a top guy.

As time pass history forgets people. Snoop run from deep cover to chronic to Doggystyle is legendary. Pac nor Big being alive ever came close to that. Doggystyle was considered one of the greatest albums ever instantly. Me against the world was a classic but it didn’t have nowhere the critical success as Doggystyle on top of sales. That’s just being real.

Nah I'm not downplaying snoop I remember that run from doggystyle up to the murder case pretty well Dude was definitely at the top then And after that he definitely was still a major player that got a lot of mainstream love. But as far as "hip hop" 95-96 it was Pac

neither Nas or Jay ever were the guy in hiphop.

what?

Jay became the standard of rap in the 00's, early 10s.

Only since Kendrick and Cole came out has anyone taken the spotlight away from Jay Z. He's literally above everyone else in rap.
