Keep it in context. Rosenberg just pissed at Nas ever since Nas kinda dismissed him an interview years ago. and mistanked him for Paul Rosenberg, Em's manager.

Rosenberg: We're here with the legend Nas::blessed:
Nas: glad to be here Paul :smugbiden:

Rosenberg: I'm actually Peter:upsetfavre:

Nas: Yeah sure, ok. :yeshrug:

Rosenberg::mjcry:

Nas: :ld:

Me against the world was Pac's break through where everybody recognized him as the best hip-hop artist at the time him being in jail during the albums run hurt his sales a lot all eyes on me it was solidified. I wasn't just talking about sales anyway. If that's the case Hov was never a top guy.
I think him being locked up helped with the promotion and rollout of MATW. One of his most personal and thought provoking albums comes out and he’s not around to see it because he’s in jail? I think the fact that the album was so great and the fact that they were dropping videos without him being in them helped propel him into megastar status when he ended up out of jail and on Desth Row.

Jay got on way later than Rakim so that comparison ain’t fair anyway. He gets props for having people care about him at 48 though.

Both great heirs,but 2pac was rightfully king in their era and shytted on them both.
And you could argue neither Nas or Jay ever were the guy in hiphop.
Guys like Mase and DMX who were Biggie and 2pac light,managed to eclipse them in popularity while Jay and Nas had a big head start.

He is right about Ether and Takeover though. But who knows,the fact Jay became what he became may be the reason people are seeing Ether differently.
Saying he can't get girls while he has Beyonce seems like nonsense.
Saying Queens nikkas run you,after knowing Nas was signed by Jay later on:francis:?
Not really fair to look back in retrospect.
Jays whole diss to Nas was about him having garbage music and not being smart with money but in turn signs the dude. Why would you sign someone to your label if his music is garbage and wasn’t moving units wouldn’t that be a bad business move? :yeshrug:
