The thing that takes away from 2016 and 2015 for me is that for every very good-great match there was a lot of "meh" in between. I read the list you put and I go :leon: but then I remember how forgettable have been the shows, how hard is to watch RAW, how little SD has mattered (and how few standout matches it has had) and how most PPVs look dope on paper but end up being "just ok" with 1 match worth a watch.

I'm not sure throwing out lists is worth it because you might see what I'm about to post and say "but that wasn't as good as X match was this year" and that's not really my point. What made 2013 so great was that for every very good-great match there were 1 or two other really entertaining matches that made shows flow better. You also had Main Event still mattering and having some really entertaining matches weekly. But just for the fun of it, by August 1st, 2013 had these to show:

Del Rio vs Big Show LMS at Smackdown
Cena vs. CM Punk on RAW
The Shield vs. Cena/Ryback/Seamus at Elimination Chamber
Punk vs Taker at Mania
Punk vs Jericho at Payback
Ziggler vs Del Rio at Payback
An awesome MITB match involving new guys (the opener of the PPV)
Cena vs Henry at MITB
Kofi vs Cesaro at Main Event
Sheamus vs Cesaro at Main Event
Bryan vs Sheamus on RAW
Bryan vs. Seth Rollins on RAW
Bryan vs Cesaro (and the Gauntlet) on RAW
The Shield vs HellNo/Kofi at RAW
The Shield vs HellNo/Taker at RAW
The Shield vs HellNo/Orton at SD
Regal vs Kassius Ohno at NXT
Emma vs Paige at NXT

And after that you had Punk/Brock, Cena/DBry, Shield vs Cody & Goldust, Rollins/Cena, DBry/Orton on RAW, Zayn/Cesaro and Regal/Cesaro at NXT and whole bunch of entertaining matches that made weekly shows more fun to watch. PPVs weren't that great, I'll give you that, but the amount of dope matches and combinations WWE had in 2013 is gonna be really hard to match.
2013 was a strong year, I'll take 16 already over it but good logic, 13 was healthy. The Del Rio big show fued was awful though.

can't believe you all were wishing for and praising the return of JOBBERS. Unreal. Watch wrestling challenge then watch SNME tell me which was better. They already had jobbers for all intents and purposes (social outcasts?) But you want NO NAME GUYS?

welcome back ed, hope all is well.

of course SNME was better because all the matches were superstar vs. superstar, but lesser shows like wrestling challenge were still needed so that they could build their guys up to that superstar level in the first place.

the jobbers are there to differentiate the superstars from the norm and to help elevate them as superstars.

But wins and losses (en masse) do that already...why do you need a no name loser to take a pin? Fandango losing to Braun strowman quick is more entertaining than that bum last week, the same way koko b ware losing to warrior was than a no name jabroni

because braun strowman looks more like a superstar standing next to the average bum. fandango is already a colorful character and could take some of the shine and the attention away from braun, plus he might even get some offense in. but against a local jobber, he could just dominate and show off all his moves in all their glory.

first time you see darth vader in star wars he's choking some random rebel soldier like he's nothing. it establishes him as a huge boss right from the jump.

you're underestimating the audience now. Beating someone who fought at wrestlemania > beating 'local superstar'. 100% of the time. it is more impressive.

If the first time vader laid hands on someone, it was killing kenobi or even choking out like, greedo or something, it is more credible than a jobber ass soldier. It just is. The first time you saw Brock he beat the dog shyt out of spike dudley and the Hardy's...he was a big deal from day zero because of it. Its more impressive than even beating two jobbers like ryback.

It's about priorities I think. I completely understand not wanting jobbers back because it means nothing matches that could be replaced with a more entertaining match up. But one of the problems of getting rid of jobbers is that you end up booking the same guys against each other every time. And they start trading wins and losses to "spice things up" and eventually those matches not only stop being entertaining (because we've seen them 20 times already), but they also end up having even less meaning than a jobber encounter that at least showcases a wrestlers and makes him look good.

I do agree that times have changed though, so I have no clue if this jobber thing will work considering how "MOTYC" hungry the current fan base is.

I think they realize this, thus the hiring push of old talent. I mean, if they're reaching out to Stevie Richards (and I'm a huge Stevie Richards mark) they're paying guys to do jobs. I'd rather see Luke Harper beat carlito's ass than "Mike Simpson" local superstar

Ed u my nikka but jobber matches are needer to protect you guys

Guys get hurt more going against other guys trying to get offense in weekly versus just dishing pain on a nobody
