IMO it's not so much that he's being shielded per se, it's just that everybody already knows he's racist and knows he won't suffer any consequences.
I don't think the c00n squad is actually convincing anyone. The real problem is that being racist is socially acceptable in middle America.

Man, I was watching CNN and they had on a group of white women and one brown woman. If you heard what they said, you'd feel sick. Not only did they say Trump wasn't a racist, but the dems were racist! They played the whole "Trump, can't be racist, he has plenty of brown and black people who support him! The inverviewer had the
