Why Millions Would Lose Coverage Under the Medicaid Expansion Changes in the House Affordable Care Act Repeal Bill

In the year following the elimination of the enhanced federal funding, people whose incomes even temporarily tick above the eligibility threshold (about $16,400 for an individual) would no longer be eligible for Medicaid. Because new enrollment would likely end (unless their state was to provide the extra funding), they would not be able regain coverage under the Medicaid expansion even if their income dropped back below that threshold. Moreover, because of the “continuous coverage” provision, even people who experience a gap in their Medicaid coverage in 2019 resulting from income fluctuations would not be able to regain their Medicaid coverage in 2020 were their income to fall again.

 wait for it......

We find that in 2016, an estimated 31 million adults ages 19 to 64 years had experienced a gap in their health insurance.

I'll merge this later. Just thought it was too ridiculous to hide in the thread

Republican Congressman Who Scolded Obamacare Recipients for Buying iPhones Exposed as Total Hypocrite

According to the Federal Election Commission, Chaffetz’s political action committee (PAC) uses donors’ money to pay for its phone bills. The 2014 document, which Intercept reporter Lee Fang shared on Twitter, shows that Chaffetz’s “rich donors” paid multiple Verizon Wireless bills between May and July of 2014, totaling nearly $1,000. Chaffetz’s campaign donations came from corporations, including Pfizer, Inc. and Goldman Sachs.

Fang also noted that Chaffetz spent $738 in campaign dollars at the Apple Store, according to a Friends of Jason Chaffetz PAC receipts and disbursements report published by the Federal Election Commission.

The monthly installments to pay off a new phone are significantly lower than the average monthly premium for an individual health care plan, and unlike Chaffetz, most Americans don’t have corporate campaign dollars paying their phone bills.

In before the inevitable spin attempts. This guy is trash but his mindset is common among conservatives.

Poor people are expected to put in superhuman efforts with little help to overcome circumstances that would crush every average person put in their position.

You put 99% of rich people in poverty and they wouldn't pull themselves up by these imaginary bootstraps. That's not his it works.
