If she feels that way...whatever that's fine. Her opinion. But what makes it upsetting is how white conservatives use black conservatives that defend his actions as a way to wave it in our face. Like it means its not racist cause THEY still support him.
They always parade these tokens like trophies, to shield their racist base.
GOP presidential conventions are hilarious in that regard... There's always more diversity on stage than on the delegate floor
That old joke still rings true: "What do you call a black person at a Tea Party rally? Keynote speaker" :jawalrus:

The GOP know black people don't vote republican regardless.

Not that the democrats have helped most black people escape the ghetto and have wealth equality.

That's always the point. They don't do that shyt to impress blacks, latinos or asians anyway... They're simply trying to make their white base feel better about themselves by conveying a sense of open-mindedness (purely based on visuals, not policies).
When Mitt Romney gave that condescending speech at the NAACP, he wasn't addressing black voters.
Same shyt with Rand Paul lately btw :leostare:

Not really, they don't need to make their white base feel better about themselves.

Most blacks who are in the GOP look down on Hip Hop culture and the welfare state.

They look down on blacks because there's a market for it in the GOP and it's personally profitable for them. Selling out for personal gain has been around in the black community since the beginning (even W.E.B Dubois addressed it).
The most pathetic part is how quickly those same blacks come around once they get in trouble.
Even Clarence Thomas cried that he was a victim of a "high-tech lynching" during his confirmation hearings... c00ns only become black when they need a racial shield.

Historically, the black community has always had sellouts. Even during the Civil Rights Movement, there were many rich blacks who hated MLK for "causing trouble, distrust and affecting their businesses" (catering to white folks). They were perfectly fine with the status quo. The funny thing is those folks always seek refuge in the black community once whites turn on them...
OJ Simpson suddenly saw himself as a persecuted BLACK man when he got in trouble. The same guy who used to play golf at whites-only country clubs (they told him that he was "different from other blacks")... I remember my dad hating his guts but cheering his acquittal nonetheless.
I asked him why he was cheering with us and he said: "Once those famous blacks get in trouble, white people would kick them out and they have to come back home"
We were all cheering for Johnny Cochran though (that's what white people never understood). When OJ fukked up again, black folks simply didn't care :manny:

I agree with your sentiment overall, but I think Kland Paul is legitimately seeking out black votes, albeit for self-serving reasons. He's just awkward at it because he's a racist himself, and denies the existence of systemic racism. He's against the drug war for ideological reasons, and figures that he can peel off some black votes because it's an issue that obviously disproportionately hurts black people. But he always stops short of calling it racial injustice. He will accurately point out that it results in "racial outcomes" i.e. a disproportionately high number of black people in prison. But he won't call it purposeful systemic racism in which black people are targeted to bear the brunt of it for the benefit of private prisons, lawyers, judges, DA's, developers, business interests, political capital for politicians, etc. He doesn't link it to poverty and economics. He basically just says "black people go to prison because they like to use and sell a lot of drugs." He's got nikkas like @DEAD7 though.

Do you really think Rand Paul stands a chance at winning?

Nah, he won't beat establishment Jeb in the primary.

Exactly, so it dosen't even matter anyway.

Being a democrat or republican is worthless in America.

The fact that it could be Jeb vs Hillary tells us everything.

Be concerned who Scalise talks with when we live in a country where the top 1% has the wealth.
