I've been, yes. They like it there - my cousin doesn't really know any different because they moved when she was 1, so she's grown up there all her life.True..those were some of the more unique places, wanted to highlight them because i found them to be pretty dope. I also noted and linked to the more affordable/common places though...There is a lot of similarity in a good amount of houses there..but there are still a lot of nice, unique and fairly new houses/apartments there..and housing in general there is a pretty good bargain from what ive seen and been told. Have you been? How do they like it?

. U might get looks here and there but thats out of ignorance of not having seen a lot of black people more than outright cismThe ones that are have never been. Those who are well traveled, wouldn't be shook. Its funny to me that people are so shook of Europe on here....its no more racist there than walking through a typical cac neighbourhood in the states. Less chance of getting shot too since no one carries guns. U might get looks here and there but thats out of ignorance of not having seen a lot of black people more than outright cism

Sometimes people are just shocked an African American made it to the other side of the world. This is the second safest place I've ever lived in my life.Never saw Slovenia being discussed on the board at all..most people in America know very little about it or have seen any parts of it. Has nothing to do with race to me or encouraging people to move necessarily, just thought itd be interesting for people to see.
Quite possibly. The younger generation seemed cool and really liberal/open minded but it has had fairly strict citizenship/immigration policies and isnt very diverse. Not to mention most of the people there grew up in the Soviet bloc. There was a rastahman on the boardwalk at Lake Bled and I talked to him a bit and he said he really loved the area but was kindaat times about the people. My friend, his friends and family were all accepting and not racist at all though (at least not that i could tell in any conversations or anything). They werent randomly slurring different types of people or anything like that. I think being incredibly devout over there keeps a good amount of the populace in overall good spirits with tolerance.
There is an interesting dynamic with Slovenia in general. Not only are they out of USSR influence, but they also got their independence from the breakup of Yugoslavia..and it was so recent that many there really value and cherish freedom/liberty. I think that goes a long way but not with everyone obviously.
I have travelled and I'm still not sure bout Eastern Europe...The ones that are have never been. Those who are well traveled, wouldn't be shook.
You can't assume everyone in Eastern Europe will be the same. There are many different cultures/countries within EE. You go to Turkey, that's Eastern Europe and most of the population is Muslim (same with Bosnia)...you go to Serbia, there's a mix of Orthodox/Muslim. People in Europe fight over religion, not so much race. You'll stand out there as there aren't many black people around, but if you're in a major city, people will have encountered black people, whether those visiting the country or African students studying at the local university. I'm Eastern European and have never witnessed hate towards black people...there is definitely an ignorance though.I have travelled and I'm still not sure bout Eastern Europe...
