Not sure what you hoped to accomplish with this topic. Most people here are black. Moving to eastern Europe as a black American isn't the smartest idea...

Never saw Slovenia being discussed on the board at all..most people in America know very little about it or have seen any parts of it. Has nothing to do with race to me or encouraging people to move necessarily, just thought itd be interesting for people to see. :manny:

I'm just saying Slovenia might be on that :mjpls: wave

Quite possibly. The younger generation seemed cool and really liberal/open minded but it has had fairly strict citizenship/immigration policies and isnt very diverse. Not to mention most of the people there grew up in the Soviet bloc. There was a rastahman on the boardwalk at Lake Bled and I talked to him a bit and he said he really loved the area but was kinda :wtb:at times about the people. My friend, his friends and family were all accepting and not racist at all though (at least not that i could tell in any conversations or anything). They werent randomly slurring different types of people or anything like that. I think being incredibly devout over there keeps a good amount of the populace in overall good spirits with tolerance.

There is an interesting dynamic with Slovenia in general. Not only are they out of USSR influence, but they also got their independence from the breakup of Yugoslavia..and it was so recent that many there really value and cherish freedom/liberty. I think that goes a long way but not with everyone obviously.

nah your white, you can move anywhere in the world without having to worry about getting beat up or pummelled, or police looking the other way as your getting stabbed on a train.

I feel ya..unfortunately. I dont think i can move anywhere in the world without having to get beat up though.

Being American overseas isnt whats hot right now either..I was there for the last world cup and they were rooting for Ghana so hard and shytting on the US :mjlol: (slovenia was also in the group but i didnt think they cared about that). Also..one dumb bytch was like "are all americans like the ones on MTV, you guys are really stupid" she was dead serious.

So ive gone to Slovenia on two separate occasions for about 5 months total because one of my buddies from college lives there. I quickly grew to love the country. Its very calm and peaceful, but there are a lot of activities to do at night no matter where you are (clubs are nice as fukk). It is the least densely populated country in the EU, got away from Soviet rule in 1991 so the economy is in the early stages of capitalism and many of the buildings are pretty new since they have been successful since then. It borders Italy, Austria, Croatia...has the Adriatic Sea, the Alps and lakes/hills/streams/forests everywhere. Plus, nearly everyone there speaks english and there are basketball courts all over the place (i was shocked to see so many parks with courts and houses with hoops). Took a while to get used to playing their ridiculous way of pickup games using that damn trapezoid though. Word up to Goran Dragic the gawd. (They HATE Sasha Vujacic)

Anyway, I recently got EU dual citizenship and am contemplating a move, so I was fukkin around looking at houses/apartments. The first few places are just fukkery luxury spots. They all have very different styles though. The last one is an apartment in downtown Ljubljana (the capital), and the last house is in a surrounding area (couldnt post pics but put up a link).

Housing is very affordable there, the food is ridiculously good and fresh (mixture of local/italian/austrian/yugoslavian foods) and almost all of it comes from local farmers and butcher shops. I came back here and was like this fukking tomato is water in tomato form compared to there. :gag:

That view and location :whew:

Those are all expensive and for sale...but they also have ridiculously good and affordable deals in Slovo for housing.

This one below comes fully furnished and is 795 euros a month (2 brs/ about $1060), 1 hr from italy/austria/croatia and is in the capital.
