Independent would be the better move. There's no way Notre Dame joins a conference, especially with playoff expansion. What's the point? They just can't have more than one-loss and they're in. Plus give up that NBC money to split the pot 13 ways? Nah:rudy:

As much money as Texas has...they don’t have the Notre Dame legacy/mystique/following to draw In that mainstream TV money on an independent level

So what happens to the LHN @satam55 @dtownreppin214 ? There’s no way the SEC powers would allow them to keep all the $$$ from their own network AND get a cut of the SEC TV $$.

Aren’t OU and Ok State joined at the hip by law?
LHN will obviously get bushed. I stopped caring about LHN years ago.

I'm still skeptical on the Sark hire but to be honest, he did a good job hiring his staff at Texas and I'd still take him over Herman. Not to mention, Sark took over a Washington program that was 0-12. But still,, the jury is out on Sark at least for me.

1.) How soon would UT and OU move into the SEC?

2.) I thought OU was tied to the hip with Okie St and Texas with the other Texas schools in big XII?

yep

I bet you the Big 10 is not going to let Texas and OU go easily. They will have discussions with them as well. Especially if this report is true and I knew years ago that the closer we get to the end of the GOR, that these rumors would start. I'm confident that the Big 12 is going into its final years. If the SEC refuses Texas and OU, you can pencil them in the Big 10 I bet.

No way this would happen. The Big Ten won’t do any halfway shyt like the punk ass deal the ACC gave ND.
Only KU sport worth a shyt. Rumor was they were willing to do it for ND but the ACC beat them to it

Well there's your answer @Lucky_Lefty

Most Texas fans will say good riddance to the LHN.

ATL…overly
Texas & Oklahoma should study what happened when Boston college, Syracuse, Pitt, etc bolted for the ACC. Not everything is greener on the other side

:mjlol: at comparing what we do in the SEC to that joke of a conference in the ACC. Texas and OU are blue bloods in states where football matters and would be coming to a conference where it literally means more. No one gives a fukk about Syracuse or BC football

The fact that these two schools have a history of trying to control their conference, I really don't know how likely it is to happen. Maybe they will get in line, but they will soon find out that doesn't fly in the SEC. You don't get any preferential treatment and you take what everybody agrees to. I don't know if they would last long even if they did somehow join the conference for a few years.

Texas A&M came into the conference and fit in and was just happy to be here. I don't know about these 2.

What’s the deal with teams not wanting other teams in their state to join their conference? They be like Hell Naw.

A&M gotta know they if those teams really wanted in their 1 vote ain’t gonna do nothing. There’s too much money on the table.
There a ton of back flipping. 10 years ago, texas was trying hard to get into the PAC. And raised their nose to the SEC.

What's changed? If in theory they can cherry pick their conference why head East? I'm trying to understand how a school can act like it ain't really that Southern, but call A&M a hick school that fit the SEC. Then turn around 10 years later? And try to get in when they wanted to get next to SC, Stanford, and UCLA?

I'm not going to pretend to know the numbers, but by footprint. A&M represents the state already. Florida State could come knocking too by that same standard if the SEC wanted two big programs all at once. Instead of OU who brings nothing in the way of state numbers. & I recognize OU's history, but they're in a low populated state.
