I'm happy this is coming to fruition. I'm not gonna lie, I thought OU was gonna get cold feet and withdraw. Oklahoma, as a state, is always years behind because they aren't progressive in anything. OU is generally progressive and a trailblazer for all things football and the trend will continue. I really do feel bad for Oklahoma State, but this is business. In order for OU to survive, this move has to occur.

I have friends from/in SEC country that have been wanting me to come to games and I kinda been putting it off.... I'm gonna be broke now... lol

First two games will be an Alabama game and, hopefully, whenever LSU comes up on OU's schedule.

To your first, I will be shocked if the Pac 12 grabbed them. Especially if they still have reservations on grabbing religious schools. Baylor probably has to accept that they are headed for the AAC.
To your second, I think that will be good for Texas. Not to many mouths to feed inside the state with only two teams. A&M will come out better for this as well but they don't realize it. The state had too many FBS, P5, or Division 1 teams.

In fact, I think the Big 12 would still exist if it was just the Texas and Texas A&M going to the big 12 without Baylor and Tech tagging along due to politics. Would have played a round robin and Nebraska/OU game would have been played yearly instead of every other two years like it was (which btw, I never liked).

Other than the religious thing....Baylor has a coach who could've gone anywhere almost, probably the best new stadium in the country, good facilities and fans that are still revitalized from their mid2010s success. They would be great for the Pac12 as would TCU.

Arizona, Oregon state, Cal Berkley...none of those schools probably draw fans at home games on any level close to Baylor or TCU. And Tech fans are simply going to always show up for home games. Basketball Baylor obviously is doing great and Tech has been good recently too.

I don't see how the religious part has ever played a factor in the Big 12, so it shouldn't be an issue in practice. But who knows. I just think those 3 and Ok St can push them to 16 teams and make the Pac12 much better.

Breh, I'm not sure if Baylor is a culture fit for the Pac12. I saw a story the other day that they're just now getting their first LGBT student org and there's been a lot of pushback over that.

It doesn’t in the big 12 because they don’t care in the big 12. Not to mention, Baylor is in the Bible Belt. The pac 12 on the other hand is a different beast. BYU can’t even get an invite because of that religious aspect. Culturally, none of these schools are a fit to the pac 12.

If Texas and OU do indeed join the SEC, the baseball will be crazy and the basketball will be as well. Texas hopefully does improve on the court in the new arena as well.

I think there will be 4 16 team conferences but the ACC better watch out for the Big 10 trying to poach more teams.
Texas will forever be garbage in basketball with this move.

OU will be tourney bound more often than not. Texas will be bragging about hard fought games with Monmouth in the NIT

Drop Tulane, VMI, and Maryland, add Texas, OU, FSU, A&M, Mizz, Louisville, BC, Cuse Pitt, Wake, Miami, and possibly ND and West Virginia... ESPN really did it :wow:

I won't lie.....wouldn't mind going to the Big 10 or Back home to the SEC. Prefer the Big 10 though.

If I'm the ACC commish I'm putting the pressure on ND to join. The more superconferences, the less games available for outside conference big games which leaves ND in trouble if they stay indy for football.

I hear ya.

BUT, end of the day, money trumps culture and even religion often times. Those Baylor admins didn't care about covering up rapes and crimes when that Art Briles football money was rolling in. And I've heard stories of TCU players selling drugs.

I'm just saying, if the money is right, it's possible. Baylor is a gigantic name in the medical field and they definitely have long money.

GT would be perfect for the Big 10. Great academics, large market, decent history in sports with lots of potential.

Our name was rumored in the initial Big10 expansion a decade ago and we're an AAU school which the B1G favors heavily.

I'd love it personally. But I doubt they leave the ACC now. And the ACC is fine.

Big 4 gonna be Pac (16???), SEC, ACC, Big 10 (plus 4????)
