Rockets fans they were taking the GOAT franchise spot before the season started
:duncan:

Rockets still aren't fully healthy DMo, Beverley and Dwight is gonna be in & out all year. That doesn't excuse the players lack of effort on defense. I think it's time for McHale to go. Tom Thibodeau would bring a defensive mindset to the team and hopefully change the offense to where it's not so predictable.
Every team knows the Rockets want to drive and kick for the 3 especially the corner 3. When the Rockets are driving this year teams are digging in the paint and getting to that corner becuz they know that's where the pass is going to go the majority of the time. Plus only Harden and Ty can create their own offense. There is no deadly 3pt shooter on the team even though the Rockets shoot the 3 more than most teams.
I hope something is going on behind the scenes in the locker room becuz it's no other reason why they just are playing with passion, effort or want to. They're 4-7 so this can turn around with the team getting healthy and just giving a damn on the court instead of the post game interviews.
There is no way Thibodeau and Morey can co-exist.Rockets still aren't fully healthy DMo, Beverley and Dwight is gonna be in & out all year. That doesn't excuse the players lack of effort on defense. You got a max salary big man with chronic knee issues...and you want Tom Thibodeau to coach him
You got a drunk for a point guard and a club hopping Kardashian dating dude for a shooting guard and you want Tom Thibodeau to coach him
Thibs "not" running a predictable offense......did you not watch those years the bulls were around last in every offensive category
There needs to be a thread about why people are so high on Thibs because I just don't get it...he has done exactly two noteworthy things in the nba...the first one was orchestrate the defense that overprotects the strong side of the court (and you actually need defensive minded nba players to do this...like what he had in boston and chi...houston as currently constructed has absolutely NO CHANCE at running a defense like this) which is great but he is not hte first guy to come up with a great defensive scheme...the second is ruining Derrick Rose career...
Y'all got the MVP tho.Rockets still aren't fully healthy DMo, Beverley and Dwight is gonna be in & out all year. That doesn't excuse the players lack of effort on defense. I honestly don't know how McHale survived this play
What was discussed in the huddle prior to this play? Anything?
Offense should be okay with a different philosophy and some actual structure it's the defense that needs to be fixed. And the player's attitudes. I mean they've got a "player's coach" who obviously isn't too hard on them and you see how it's going now. They had a great run last year and have progressed the last few years but now someone needs to come in and take them past the hump.
Thibs is gonna demand effort, demand defensive intensity and that's exactly what this team needs. You can have someone manage Thibs in the player minutes department.
But before last season I never thought McHale was the right coach for this team. Last year though I had to eat my words becuz the team responded to McHale all the time. The Rockets started slow in 1st quarters a lot last year. McHale would call an early time out and the team responded but going on big runs which led to double digit 1st quarter leads which led to the Rockets holding on to win.
They're not responding to McHale this year. I don't know if they've quit on him but his message isn't getting through. Maybe a different voice is needed.

Just brining in Thibs isn't going to fix your defense. You need a different set of players than what you have to do that. Bringing in Thibs is definitely going to kill your offense, because you do not have the type of players who would excel in thibs grind it out half court offense positions. Maybe you get an assistant coach who is great offensively...but Thibs never did that in Chicago so I don't see why he would anywhere else
The players on your team have only ever responded to players coaches so what makes you think they are going to respond to a hard ass coach like Thibs. It was all fun and games in Orlando until Stan became a bit of a hard ass and then boom, Dwight wanted him gone and ran to LA. Then in LA there was the pressure from the fans, pressure from Kobe, pressure of being the next great laker center...booom Dwight left. Harden played for Scott Brooks, a players coach. He has played for Mchale, a players coach. It was all fun and games in Denver with Lawson until Shaw got there and tried to be hard ass and then boom...they are getting into it. Management didn't even give him the chance to get into it with Mike Malone, shipped his ass out for pennies on the dollar.
So your three main players have either all butted heads with hard nosed coaches or outright never had a hard nosed coach...and the answer to houston's problems is go and get a hard nosed coach?
