28 degrees outside and Yall calling it a deep freeze and shutting the city down. Closing schools and sending people home early from work. As a Michigander I”m embarrassed for yall

How hard is it for a city as big and rich as Houston to get some salt for the roads. I’ve been here 4 years and it’s happened atleast once a year

Depend where you going breh. If you want still want some semblance of life, heights and river oaks. Suburbs wise kingwood, memorial, and some parts of humble.

How are Katy or Spring? Is Houston proper a bad bet?

Spring is good, got a couple of mba friends out there. Cypress is a nice area too. @Mastamimd is right you’d definitely want to be in cinco ranch.

Keep in mind though any of these areas you’re 40mins out from houston and pray there is no traffic. Houston Proper isn’t bad just remember you want to be inside the loop (the 6-10 one). I used to live off Washington and then memorial, both really nice areas for kids and adults.

I didn't mind living far because my parents are just outside Katy so I was used to driving far lol. Only time it really sucked is going to the Eastside but I only had one homie that lived there

Spring's got two sides to it, in my experiences, and you want to lean toward the part of Spring that's basically adjacent to Tomball/The Woodlands (basically, assuming you are traveling I-45 North toward Conroe or Dallas, you want to go to the part of Spring on the LEFT of that freeway). Tomball supposedly has pretty good schools, if you've got kids to think about. Klein's school district is apparently solid as well.
