I'll be interested to see ERod's market this winter. He probably cost himself some money with this stunt. To turn down the Dodgers in the name of staying closer to your family in the northeast (even though he plays in Detroit...), there's gotta be genuine questions about his desire to play for a winner.

He clearly isn't gonna sign with a team on the west coast and winning doesn't seem to be a priority either. No other team will give him a no trade clause either.

Mets are doing the right thing. I would sign a bunch of short term free agents for the next two years and trade/buy prospects.

The only way to win consistently in baseball is to consistently produce cheap, high end talent from your farm system.

Funny, I didn't hear him accept responsibility for his poor performance which led to the selloff. He must have mentioned that part later in the press conference. Thanks for your amazing starts that final week of the season against Atlanta and San Diego as well as the amazing 2023 campaign.
