yeah when I was growing up some people still used leaves but you had to know the specific ones to use. they were big like banana tree leaves and you could fold them and take big pieces. these are lost skills. your average person today might go out there and wipe with poison ivy :dead:
In Belize, we had out houses where we shyt in buckets then toss it.
Or we would go to the ocean or river, shyt off a pier, and the catfish would eat it.
:scusthov:
That’s why older Belizeans never eat catfish. If you told them, “you eat catfish”. That’s automatic fukk up on site.
:whoa:

As best we can tell from historic and archaeological data, ancient Romans peed in small pots in their homes, offices, and shops. When those small pots became full, they dumped them into large jars out in the street. Just like with your garbage, a crew came by once a week to collect those hefty pots of pee and bring them to the laundromat. Why? Because ancient Romans washed their togas and tunics in pee!

Human urine is full of ammonia and other chemicals that are great natural detergents. If you worked in a Roman laundromat, your job was to stomp on clothes all day long—barefoot and ankle deep in colossal vats of human pee.

Regular Romans didn’t have jobs. If you were stomping on pee all day you were a slave.

Life expectancy at birth was a brief 25 years during the Roman Empire, it reached 33 years by the Middle Ages and raised up to 55 years in the early 1900s.

Not related, but another fun fact: the Pyramids were not built by "slaves." Egyptians were indeed "paid" for their labor. Except their payment most commonly came in the form of beer, which the Egyptians invented. And of course, rather than being served in a cold can, the beer was stored in a giant pot. Workers would commune around this ppt, pass around large straws, and sip beer together after a days work.

A lot of Europeans were perceived as extremely disgusting by other cultures.

The first thing that would've hit you if you encountered one would be the stench of tobacco and alcohol mixed with the smell of stale body odor, urine and residual feces. Their breath would have smelled HORRIBLE and their teeth would be worse. If you go down to the most desolate part of town and crouch down next to an unhoused alcoholic, you'd get a preview of what they would've smelled like.

Due to a lack of nutrition they would be shorter too. I recommend that people read what missionaries wrote when they first encountered native Americans. The average native American was more active, ate a more varied diet and was taller and cleaner due to regular bathing and swimming in rivers. Their skin complexion was better too. The natives you see today have been absolutely DEVASTATED by generations of alcohol, processed foods their bodies haven't been evolved to handle and diseases passed down from a reduced gene pool since Europeans wiped out something like 1 in 10 people. The shyt was an apocalypse for real to these people.
