looking back, I used to cop mad weak albums because there were no leaks, just saw the CD and said "fukk it :manny:"

Exactly. I'm from the era where you just heard shyt on the radio or If I really wanted new music I'd base my purchases on what the album cover looked like. I got soooo many wack albums on cassette :snoop: Leaks have definitely introduced me to so much music that I would have never heard, but at the same time...they ain't getting my money now :lolbron:

I bought mostly classics, I was really good at judging an artist of the single. I only have a few purchases I regret.

I think in today's case it may actually help rockys album out. As big of a fan as I am of A$AP dudes buzz was fading quick. I think the leak and 1train will definitely grab people's attention

It hurts a little, but not as much as some people make it out to be.

Rap and R&B are not the only genres that gets their music leaked before the album gets release by retailers. An artist's hardcore fans are always going to support the artist and buy their music. If the music is good enough than the casual fan might buy it.

You still have pop artist, country artist, rock bands, etc. still selling gold and platinum albums.

It's definitely affected sales in a big way. If it didn't there would still be a lot of record shops. Just look at hip hop this year, this has to be the first year since the beginning that no hip hop album has gone platinum. If you look at the late 90's early 00's you would never believe some of the artist that went platinum.

In this day and age, I see leaks helping artists...sale tickets for their shows near you.

Nobody buy albums anymore; only if you're special.
