its hard to know where to place dude in the pantheaon of rap stars of this era. he sold 660,000 of Sideline Story, and 631,000 of Born Sinner. i can't think of many rappers doing those numbers and yet, dude still feels sidelined to me. is that a mistake on my part or what? what do u reckon.

shouldnt he be bigger than Ross, Meek Millz, Asap Rocky, Earl. his numbers are better but he doesnt seem at the centre of culture like these cats for better or worse.

For the kind of music he makes in 2014 his doing pretty good. He seems to move like a 90's rapper, in that he puts something out, then goes away, then comes back, then goes away and not many artists can do that, thats why they are always putting out new content and stay making headlines for good or bad etc.

He's not a loud mouth, doesn't dress odd, doesn't date any famous bytches and doesn't do or say controversial shyt. He had one line about autism and got called out by major media sources so obviously he's big enough to catch their attention when he tries.

Not to compare them really but Kendrick and Drake did about the same numbers, but Kendrick is never in media with Rihanna, running around with ballers etc. Therefore he seems a bit insignificant in relation to Drake (prior to the Control verse).

He's a lowkey type of dude like Nas or someone similar, who was moving millions but still seemed half-underground.

Hmmm amongst the newschool? hes like the 3rd biggest rapper right now

He may not be hyped and talked about a lot.. but hype aint mean shyt without a dedicated fanbase that supports you when it comes time to buying your music and going to see you... and Cole got that. Cole just aint doing extra shyt that garners attention besides music, unlike most the other guys you named. Edit: like someone else said he moves like a 90s rapper.

I dont like Coles music, personally.. but based upon sales, shows, singles sold.. hes bigger than all those guys you named.

His records sell. His songs are on the radio. I guess all of that could be bought, but assuming its somewhat legit - he's gotta be 3rd behind Drake and Kendrick in terms of who's been hot the past couple years.
