how big is j cole as a rap artist?

I'd say he's top 5 of this generation....

He got two very good mixtapes (The Warm Up, Friday Night Lights)

And put out two soild albums that both went gold..... and he prouduces pretty much all of his own music (The gift and the curse) . I would like him to switch up his beats a lil more and do more on other peoples beats

Not sure where he'll end up but to me he's been steadily improving and now knows how to make songs that get radio play

I'd put Kendrick, Drake, Cole, KRIT, and whoever in that 5 spot

The idea that Cole being introverted is why he isn't as big as Kendrick is false. Kendrick isn't out there everyday either and isn't that charismatic, but people vibe with him. Cole's problem is that his albums always lack the second single like how Kendrick had Poetic Justice with Drake. Otherwise, I see no reason why one guy is platinum and the other isn't. The thing about Cole is that he has the Jay-Z thing about him in that he doesn't do too many features so that he's not oversaturated. I'm pretty sure he got that from Jay, but there's no reason Cole shouldn't be on some of these records.

for the record, i just played born sinner and i think the album has about 7 great songs which i didnt expect from him to be honest. he is a good talent.

Rocky has a bigger reach outside the U.S.. i doubt Wale has much of a fanbase internationally.
