To respond to the original topic... keeping vets from reupping is the pats way. In their defense, welker wouldnt get the money he wants anywhere because gms know the deal with him. He was a replacement for their lack of a running game. He

And smh at anyone hating on the Patriots for this. I can't stand those mfers but they're smart when it comes to the $$ and roster management. Their ability to draft well (usually) and make solid FA pickups (usually) allows them to avoid shytty situations where they're forced to overpay vets / declining players. A lot of the shyt they do is heartless but that's how the NFL goes, players know the deal when they sign up.
