Hey brehs,
I can really use some advice.
I'm 6'1 about 291 pounds and was told by my doctor I'm at risk for being prediabetic if I don't lose some weight.
With that said I need some tips. I'm someone who has a major sweet tooth and I stress eat with fast food almost daily but I want to change that and need to do so fast.
What would be a good diet plan to stick to? I also plan to try to go to the gym at least 4 times a week and focus on cardio.
Here's what I personally did, and honestly, it was a bit of a blessing.
I first started making my own meal prep of chopped pan cooked chicken breasts/thighs with rice and broccoli after watching a few videos on Youtube. Once I had those coming in steady, going out to eat started happening less and less. I might eat out once or twice a month now. After a friend put me on Bulgogi, I started using sauces to make the dish taste even better, though I had to cut some of the sauces out because they had High Fructose Corn Syrup in them. Speaking of HFCS, I stopped drinking Sodas, cold turkey. I only drink water, Bubly and Pure Sparkle (from Dollar Tree). When you cut that HFCS out, you're gonna notice a difference.
Some time after that, my homie from TN came through after a breakup with his ex gf. He was a gym rat, so we started working out at the rec center gym RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET FROM MY HOUSE (that's how much of a bum I was), and I started doing strength training AND cardio there. That's the other part about what you said. You can't just do cardio because if you think you got a sweet tooth now, you haven't seen anything until after your body betrays you and has you start eating even more shyt after you do cardio only.
You got to mix both in there, otherwise your snacking is gonna skyrocket. Another thing he put me on was Smoothie King. Them joints will help curb your appetite and you can get a good dose of vegetables and fruits in them jokers.
I workout 4-5 times a week. I work on Shoulders/Chest/Triceps on Monday, Back and Biceps on Tuesday, Leg Day on Thursday, and Dropsets of everything on Friday/Saturday. I also do about 10 minutes of cardio on an elliptical on those days, as well as Planks before I head to the gym.
It's not easy and you WILL backslide, but if you keep it up, you'll drop the weight and start to feel better both physically and mentally.
Good luck, breh.
