More devices support 2.4 and don't support 5, so chances are the traffic on the 2.4 is higher and the 5 is more free........I always use 5 if I have the option
Change it to whatever is appropriate for your device. Since it a stick you'll have to buffer into whatever amount of RAM you have cuz disk writing will be a pain in your thorax.
I only have issues when I switch the firestick on a tv too far from the router. Netflix, kodi, etc works fine except when I change tvs. Don't think it's meant to used that far away from the router honestly. Only cost $40 so they aren't using their best wifi technology.
