Where It’s Not Safe
It was designed not to, cause the cost of living is going up because people are living in overcrowded places like NY, DC, LA and land is scarce. It was all created for people to be permanent slaves to greedy landlords who doubled the rent prices since 2008.
Say it again:wow:

1) if you can't save 3% of what the home is worth then you can't afford the home....lots of things can go wrong such as roof, the mechanics of the home, maintenance etc.

2) There's a thing called a starter home.....if $250 is your goal buy $100-150 range and work your way up

3) no one is above having more than 1 job if you really want you'll get.....everyone wants nice things but not everyone WANTS NICE THINGS there's a difference

Say it again:wow:

The amount of people that became homeless and live off of the grid, is insane when rent prices got outta control. They really do their best to put people out of existence.

But owning your own home.....all I can say is put a massive 100k or above and live with relatives while saving money. Cause soon, America will be 3rd world status.

Funny thing for me is I'm reminded of my parents. Both worked at AT&T mind you...
  1. Lived with my great grand parents while stacking chips.(old homes in Birmingham AL have two kitchens one up & one down stairs)
  2. Purchased home in "working" - "middle class"(hate those terms by way) population AA neighborhood(60k - 120k houses) around relatives.
As a result we had the income to do all kinda stuff growing up. I like to say "we had everything we needed and most of the stuff we wanted"

Lot of yall would be too proud to stack chips at grandma spot with your wife for a year or two in order to save for a home and pay down student debt.
Lot of yall would be too washed to buy a home in an AA neighborhood(truckers, k-12 teachers, nurses, office workers, electricians, cableman, auto repair, etc) where homes are reasonably priced.

Some dont have the luxury of living at a family members house to save.

Buy in a cheaper area, dual-incomes, and saving.
A lot of people rent, they can’t afford a mortgage :yeshrug:

It isn't mortgages, its the taxes that go up each year. For what though? Schools at all levels churning out robo children, potholes so big they look like Optimus Prime played double dutch on the highway, and trash bins looking like a Hoarder's episode...

Back to the main point, taxes and unexpected and expensive repairs can sink new house owners quite easily. Black Mold, Termites, surprise tax liens, septic dredging, poor insulation....and many more surprises new home owners may not expect

That is how all these other cultural groups do it, little Yuan Li can live at home until he is 35 and save his bread. American families want their children out at all costs by 21/22. It is the collective effort vs the individualstic philosophy

For my friends, most of them borrowed money or were given money by family and there is nothing wrong with that. For me I don't have enough down payment to buy a house in Brooklyn or Queens unless I buy in the hood. I could buy a house in Long island but I don't want to live there. Realistically i could afford a million dollar mortgage over 30 years at the best rate but it's the goddamn down payment.
