How can you say Nas isn't the greatest?

That was probably a label decisions and not his. Its funny you post these singles and not other commercial tracks that could've been singles. Nas could've easily went 5x or more plat if he would've released other songs. But dude would drop 2 videos and disappear. Dude didnt want the limelight like Jay at the height of their careers.
This song and Nastradamous are the lowest point of his career by far. I don't even think Nas realises how badly he fell off before Stillmatic.

Jay was hella commercial around vol 2 and vol 3. I mean the Dynasty was decent but lets not act like Jay was dropping Reasonable Doubt type records his entire career.

It played a factor. Like I said, it was Stillmatic in its entirety that brought back the Phoenix.

If Nas was good at making the type of tracks Jay makes he would be making em.
He realizes that he has to stay in a very tight lane because he's only good at making certain type of music
His voice, flow, and delivery dnt call for the type of tracks Jay makes u fool.
Nas aint the greatest in any sense of the word.
Thats why he's always so safe on his tracks cuz he knows his audience and just sticks to pleasing em.
Jay on the other hand can do it all.

Most of those commercial singles that Nas put out was for Braveheart projects and they were all successful. That goes foe Ochie Wally, Quick to back down, You owe me and Hate me now. It's Nas fans and critics who don't like him going commercial or mainstream and shyt on him after the fact.

Im not going to write a thesis and all that because its not that serious but Nas is more versatile.
Nas has street records, party records, storytelling, conceptual records. I do agree Jay does the party songs better than Nas but everything else there's no comparison. Can Jay go and make an album with a Marley son?
If anything Jay stays in a certain lane and follows whatever is current. The only time he stepped out his box was when he released that DOA track. Nas could constantly reinvent himself but then critics would discredit the work and say "Its not Illmatic". So lets not act like Jay isn't out there pandering
