they make it seem like they was "real" cool in high school. i remember Busta in an interview talkin bout it saying Big used to be the rappin ass nikka in HS while Jay always had money even as a teen, rocking gold chains & the flyest adidas. the years dont add up. sounds like in reality, they barely knew each other & it was some shyt they put together to add mystique & sell records. sue me.
Busta is frontin. Jay did always have money as teen according to a lot of people. But Jay had already dropped out of HS. They literally met each other when Jay was recording Brooklyn's Finest. I've never heard then insinuate anything to the contrary.
That's what I thought too. I was just going off of the "they met in high school" shyt. Pretty much every Jay-Z biography says that.

Industry friendship that turned into genuine friends and bordered on being close peoples prior to Big's death. Mutual artistic respect that I think says less about Jay (who obviously benefited more from the bond due to Big's stature) and more about that boy Frank.
This is a guy who said unequivocally that Jay is better than him (to Cease, Kim and a few others within his circle) with zero fukks given. He admired Jay's talent & lyricism so really didn't mind the two of them rocking together. That lack of ego amazes me.
