This thread is weird to me I remember a time (The funk/soul era) when Jazz was considered 'your grandparents music' and most young black people wouldn't touch it with a ten foot pole

and this was pre-hip-hop blowing up shyt was wayyy outta style and you would get clowned for listening to it...hell my parents who grew up on rock n roll used to clown me for liking Jazz

During that time outside of the classic black jazz legends most of the new jazz artists were white...unlike rock whites didn't have to hijack it...almost two generations of black people basically was on some 'fukk jazz' shyt

Hip-Hop actually helped to make Jazz cool again with young black kids in the early 90s
