Because other countries offer better currency exchange per dollar.
You gonna fly all the way to PR, which is right next to DR and get priced on goods and services in American dollars.

Even then, I think all inclusive flight + hotel situations are still more expensive than their neighboring cousins in DR.

For some people, they feel they aren't really leaving America if they goto PR.

Hurricane fukked them up, I got family who went out there last year right after and they went on a girls trip and enjoyed it but loved Jamaica more for obvious reasons.

Is PR suffering from a marketing issue?

How much would a trip cost if you're from the south?

Maybe because PR uses the american dollars as its currency? Also not trying to sound ignorant here but you can't go too wild there like in the other islands cos god forbid if you get booked in PR, that shyt can follow you back in mainland. When i was in DR i've done plenty of reckless shyt that i couldn't do here in the states.:lolbron:

Y'all must not have grown up around Ricans. I grew up around them and was in the Navy with them too. They were as hood as anybody in my westside of Chicago neighborhood. The ones I was in the Navy with were from New York. They were some hood moafuggas too.

Them Ricans you grew up with were probably Nu York Ricans or those that were from the island but raised in the U.S. The island PRs are different comparing to the Nu york ricans. Not saying you will find hood PRs in the island but even then you will notice the difference between them.

Simple. It's a US territory, so it's not seen as exotic, or something that sounds impressive.

No one's really all that interested in flying that far east from the west to stay in the states. We'd just go to Mexico instead.

And chances are, brehs have met at least one Puerto Rican person here in the states, so they don't fantasize about their women the same way they do Brazilians or whatnot. They're probably missing out.
