It Amazes Me How Some Of You Guys Who Grew Up In That Bulls Era Think Teams Are Just Supposed To Win Multiple Championships

The NBA's history is defined by teams winning more than 1. In the last 20 years, Spurs,Lakers, Rockets, Bulls, and Heat won the majority of championships, and all won more than 1. So expecting a super team to do the same is being unreasonable?

The fact is, the celtics had to play 3 game 7s in '08 before the Finals, blew a double digit second half lead in game 7 in 2010, and CHOKED up 3-2 vs the Heat in 2012. The only reason they don't get hated on is because they're all media darlings.

They only won one chip.

They beat a injured, inexperienced, Laker squad and when they got healthy took another L...

Numerous oppurtunties sqaundered, paul pierce, ray allen, and KG underperforming when needed most..

Imho, them letting Rondo be the MVP of the squad was trash, he wasn't the best player so why place that weight on him?

Them letting a One-man band Lebron bum sqaud kick them out some years....

Most overhyped super team ever...

5/10.
U have no idea how much one chip would mean to some fans...

It's not about the fans, it's about place in history. The all time great teams in NBA History have 3 or more titles. 80's Celtics/Lakers, 90's Bulls, early 2000's Lakers, you can throw the spurs big 3 in there too.

Pau/Kobe Lakers and the rocket teams aren't even gonna go down as all time great teams and they both won two in a row.

KG and Paul Pierce were among the most hated players in the league during the Celts Big three era.

Yes, looking back it was a failure. When your team wins a championship building a team then there's a great amount of satisfaction in that.

When you form a super team, there's higher expectations. You had arguably 3 top 15 players on one team. I think EVERYONE expected them to win. I was a huge Pierce fan but when he got Ray and KG, I was like :manny:

Got to agree with this when you consider all the great teams over the years that didn't win

They were nowhere in their prime when they played together, they were just vet-savy. I dont call that a failure one bit.

Ask Barkley, Malone, Stockton, and the whole 90s Knick roster if you think they are a failure :sas1:

ATL to MEM
2008- title
2009-blew a 3-2 lead to the magic and lost series
2010- blew 3-2 lead and a 13 point game 7 lead and lost in the finals
2011- smacked by Miami(acceptable loss)
2012-blew a 3-2 lead to Miami with game 6 in Boston.

They underachieved and choked a few series away. Sorry but their run wasn't memorable at all.

Yet you remember it.

Norfeast groovin…
They were a success the same way the '04 pistons were, met up with a weak Laker team and hit a lick and proceeded to do nothing else from then on. Didn't hurt than Leon Powe lived at the free throw line and James Posey was beatin Kobe up on the perimeter on some Above the Rim shyt. fukk the celtics, that should've been another Lakers 3peat if Bynum and Ariza aren't injured.

Good thing is we won't be dealing with the celtics in the finals again until at least 2032.
