Kanye and Pharrell basically crafted this new generation of rappers all about their fashion and vanity...
but Ye is a pop superstar and Pharrell is still just a mega producer...

While Pharrell is orchestrating GREAT hits like "Up All Night To Get Lucky"....Kanye is going on choreographed rants because Ray J hit it first...

Kanye's albums aren't even comparable to Pharrell's in the first place, part of a solo career is obviously dropping good albums and Pharrell's shyts have all been mediocre. Plus Kanye wanted to prove people wrong more than anything and probably spent more time crafting his rapper skills than Pharrell, and most of Pharrell's hits were on features or on production anyway, Kanye has hits across the board.

I'd much rather hear Pharrell rap than Kanye at ANY stage of his career honestly, he may have a better voice for rapping but he's not really a better rapper from the few joints that come to mind when I think of Pharrell spitting.

Pharrell doesn't "depend" on Chad. Pharrell has many solo productions. Now Kanye on the other hand, literally depends on a team of producers. That's been the case since 808's. He's also had co-producers since Late Registration. Therefore Kanye's been more dependent on other producers than Pharrell has been "dependent" on Chad.
