I fukk with Meek, but I think cats were just disappointed in his debut. DC3 had some dope joints in my opinion but it wasn't DC1 or DC2 level. He needs to hit a home run with his next album to get that all round respect.

There's a few artists which have different responses on "the streets" and "the internets", Meek Mill is definitely not one of them.

Someone like Jeezy who was moving like 700k with 300k followers on twitter is a case, but even he upped his shyt on the internets.
Mill has like 2 of the most downloaded tapes ever on datpiff, is very active on instagram, blogs post all his shyt and had like 1-2 million followers before his first album. More than Ross even.

He's one artist who gets the exact same love on the streets and the internets, as a matter of fact a perfect example I would say.

The coli is another thing, the coli is very stan/hater driven i.e. most rappers getting posts are the ones with stans/haters and Meek does not seem like a cat with many stans/haters.
So why he ain't go Gold?

Cause no one has the emotional attachment to him as, let's say, Kendrick and Cole has to their fanbase. You can't claim to be any rapper's fan unless you BUY a retail CD from them.

How many new artists do you know of who went gold?
Cole, Drake, Kendrick and Macklemore are the only ones I can think of.

Besides that it's like Wild Self is saying, he's not got enough Stans to sell a lot of records. I don't know why but I have a feeling that second album won't be as successful as his first. Which came out during the whole mmg hype thing.

DC2 should have been his album. I can pull songs off DC2 and DC3 and make them his album and he would have went Gold easy. Not to mention his album dropped the same day as Hurricane Sandy did..when his core fanbase (Northeast) was more worried about the storm.

So you're saying that while he has love on the Internet AND streets, it's not enough on either side to move 500k? Cause the new artists you named pretty much got love from one side and not the other.

What do you mean, Drake is loved on twitter, Instagram, forums, clubs, MTV, radio, Grammys anywhere. So are Cole and Kendrick.

The streets are too integrated with social media to separate them in 2014.

Meek gets love but his fanbase is not strong, it's like ASAP, schoolboy and them. They might not be the most hyped but their fanbases are real. Motherfuxkers dress like ASAP, dude is probably the dude who carries the most responsibility for young street cats dressing like fakkits.

Another important thing is the white/hipster/college/suburban fan base, meek is still nt very significant in that demographic.
