How come white players like Jokic and Luka don’t translate to increased viewership and ratings for the NBA?

And the reason why that is is because two of their best players weren't white American. As for your second point, he would be a god in NY but that's only because the Knicks ain't won shyt since the 70's.
Dallas is not the first city people think about when they think of the US🤷‍♂️ people think about NY, LA, Chicago, Miami hence why when teams in those markets win it’s a huge deal…. These are the super star cities after all, the faces of the league usually play for teams in these cities and the NBA knows that, I’m 100 percent sure if Luka or Jokic played in these markets they would be pushed to be the faces of the league, hell lebron had to leave Cleveland to truly become the Face of the NBA

Two small market teams who haven't won anything. Bron and Steph both still the faces of the league. What stories are there to tell except they both are having good seasons? It's gonna be even funnier when Jokic wins 3 MVP's and casuals still really won't know who he is.

I also can't get over how absurdly incorrect this first sentence is. Do you even watch the fukking NBA or know anything about Dallas or Denver???

Denver has never won a title???? Denver and Dallas are small markets???? :russ: :russ: :russ: :russ:

Denver hadn't won the title yet and Dallas hasn't done shyt for an entire decade. Both of those teams are small for the NBA. The Lakers, Knicks, Boston, and GSW bring the ratings in the NBA. Those two don't.

Dallas is the 9th largest city in the country. Denver is larger than Boston, the correct framing is "legacy franchises" vs "non legacy franchises"

Lebron and Kobe shared the "face of the league" title from 06-2010 while he was in Cleveland. Curry also held that title while playing for a small market team. The only reason Luka isn't on that level is because he's foreign.

Cacs waiting for their basketball version of Travis Kelce. Once they get a cac born in middle America that puts up 25/8/6, wins a ring or two, drives a pickup in overalls in the summer and dates the equivalent of Taylor Swift, we'll never hear the end of how they're as good as MJ :wow:

Their success has led to increased interest in the NBA, you’re just not seeing it translate to American TV ratings. Joker and Luka are national heroes in Serbia and Slovenia.

The NBA’s growth in fans is increasingly occurring outside of the US.
How do you know this?
Thread makes no sense because by OP's logic the NHL should be far and away the most watched sport in America :heh:

It's almost as if people like what they like when it comes to sports and the color of the athletes is meaningless in the equation
Are you dumb?

Wayne Gretzky is Canadian and white America loves him and consider him the goat hockey player, the foreign logic doesn’t make sense in 2023, it’s the team he plays for and the fact that Lebron and Curry still in the league, let’s talk when Luka is in his prime, he is only 24 after all
