It's crazy how many :aicmon: :beli:type bars Cam'ron got away with due to his next level swag.

Holy moly, roly poly, hilly silly, puters putin, just straight laziness :pachaha:

AYO not for nothing he was still spitting on that type of shyt....I can't remember the song or I'd post it where every bar was about an acronym. That shyt would sound so stoopid if you didn't get the references :russ:

but lowkey IYKYK he was really rapping :wow:

Yea I'm seeing it through rose tinted glass. Cause when purple haze dropped he was THE 1 for me n my crew. we were dipset fanatics. I'm assuming you got some years on me but I can see that objectively when u put it like that.

Its just crazy cause she got so many fire rapper features that all got like 40+ Mill views on YT RN. That BS with cam is struggle status :snoop:

Yeah when he dropped purple haze, I was in my first semester of college that December of 04’

I still remember at summer jam they closed it out; and everyone was leaving cause it started raining....cam dropped "I really mean it" and me and my crew and our girls at the time went BONKERS :damn:

no lies told:mjcry:

Aint nobody care about sales, views, clicks, any of that internet shyt. And our whole crew was on the SAME music despite whatever else was going on. So you could throw on album cuts and everyone knew em :wow:

When you physically had music and had to pay for it; the value was increased you know :ohlawd:

I remember jumping into peoples cars or in their crib going through their CD binders and judging them like a mug off it :pachaha:

you're bugging. MIMI was enormous in real time. cam debuted in like 98....

How old are you? Because you're missing context.

Mariah was hotter than fish grease in the 90s, being the mainstream darling in the early/mid 90s then crossing over with the hip hop remixes in the late 90s.

But by the early 2000s, she wasn't as hot. She had a temporary decline. This is the period we're talking about (2002). Cam didn't really need her on the Oh Boy Remix. To be all the way real about it, J'Lo was bigger in terms of all the songs that were out at that point in time. And that bish can't even sing lol. She was everywhere though. The only hot song I can think about by Mariah during this period (early 2000s) was the Busta Rhymes I Know What You Want song.

Mariah came back in 2005 with Emancipation of MiMi though. She came back hard. To call something a comeback implies there was a slump.

when that "Oh Boy" remix dropped, Mariah's popularity had went through a bit of decline, because this was not long after her movie and soundtrack "Glitter", which was a huge failure and Mariah had a breakdown. that was in 2001.

that "Oh Boy" remix was 02.

Mariah wouldn't get back on track until 05' when she dropped The Emancipation of Mimi
She was still killing it on the hip hop collabs though.

She had two successful collaboration with busta rhymes and jadakiss

Nah, you're my age (early/mid 30s)

You don't remember this stuff? :heh:

I was in grade school when Mariah had songs with Puff, ODB, I remember MTV Jams / The Box wearing that shyt out.

In middle school, she was in the Glitter album phase. Nikkas weren't listening to that. These were the years where J'Lo, Ashanti, Alicia Keys were hot and Beyonce was about to leave Destiny's Child.

Then my junior and senior year in high school, Mariah Carey came back with TEOM and that shyt was hot.

So, I get the other poster saying she fell off because it's true.

TBH I'm prolly not the best source. I've said it in other threads I'm half brain dead. MFers bring up memories from way back about me n them and lowkey I can't recall AT ALL :mjlol:

I started smoking bud at 14 and was heavy on it so I blame it on that LOL.

All I remember is MIMI was the shyt when that dropped :russ:

Sorry for the double quote but this shyt funny; I've always been music since the birth. I got that shyt in my family. Use to freestyle all day was known for that. I got schooled early to hip-hop FR FR. I knew rakim/big daddy Kane shyt like that in HS LOL.

1 of my old heads had me spit "My Philosophy" in either JR high or freshman year for him and his old head crew like I was a fukkin performer :russ:

They laced me with some bread and blew it all at the bodega on dumbs shyt :mjlol:

thinking back on it now how fukkked up is that; they prolly gave me like 10 bucks at best for that work :dahell:
