Beats just weren't fire enough. Flows just not potent enough.

Lyrics just not impactful enough

In these times.

If ima be 100% truthful the “lil pump diss” was my favorite song out the whole album by far. Unpopular opinion of mines but maybe he shoulda made that the single.
Walk the walk:yeshrug:
Instead of making a preheated sarcastic pseudotrap “single”

Cole seems to not give a fukk about anything but touring.

Because that's where he makes the most money. He sets his albums up for the tours. J. Cole doesn't really give a damn about the charts. At this stage he knows he has enough of a fanbase to go platinum so it's not where his focus lies. It all about touring and making the biggest money from that along with the merch that comes with it.

That’s where every artist makes most of their money and every artist makes an album for a tour

Cole cares about the charts just as much as every other artist. I don’t know who y’all think Cole is?

J. Cole never cared about the charts. 4YEO didn't even have any real singles. He's all about touring because that's how and why he blew up the way he did. It's why he defied radio. He never was into that. He's currently at a point to where he knows his albums are going to sell platinum regardless and he uses his songs purely to set up his nationwide/international tour. It is also why he makes more than any other rapper in the game right now, because he tours excessively. He rarely takes breaks. That is what he's all about now.

Huh? J Cole was on Columbia (ie Sony) first; Roc Nation is his management deal. When his album deal ended with Columbia he signed to Interscope, bringing over his Dreamville imprint for distribution.

He's been on Interscope for the last two albums. So all this machine talk can cease: he's on the same major label as Kendrick now.
You're confused as fukk. Cole was the first artist signed to the RocNation label. He isn't managed by them. Cole's manager is the dude that is the president of Dreamville. Initially RocNation was distributed by Sony, then Universal.

Cole's LABEL Dreamville has a deal with Interscope.

He's signed to RocNation, which is distributed by Universal and Interscope provides marketing services for his albums.

Are you serious right now? Having a personal manager (Ib) doesn't change the fact that Roc Nation manages him, promo, tour deals, etc. That's literally how Roc Nation works, with everyone. Who do you think brokers deals with the NBA?

He has a distribution deal on Interscope. He's an Interscope artist. Which means he gets the benefits that come with that. This "machine" the Coli talks about.
