these days we still got 30 year olds living with parents and its considered normal behavior.

times have changed with the environment.

Yep. Blame the economy and the lack of pressure to mature. It changed everything.
Good point...

I was just thinking about how Biggie and Pac were both married by 25 and just seems more mature than an A.S.A.P.

Maybe the answer is just that kids grew up much faster years ago...

Crack era made nikkas grow up FAST. Back in the early 90s, when you 13 you were a grown man.

The industry in the 80s did not operate at the same level as it did in the 90s and definitely not present day.

exactly.

I hate how this topic always has to start from ground zero.

Yeah...nowadays with social media, independent labels etc. a younger/newer artists can get into the mainstream easier than they did back then. ESPECIALLY easier than in the 90's when there were tons of artists, label politics were crazy and you couldn't really make it without a major label pushing your work.

im sorry but social media aint chit.

It amounts to absolutely nothing.

Nas blew up at 20/21

BIG Blew up at 22.

Snoop blew up at 22.

Only difference between now and then is, you gotta work and grind on ya own to build ya buzz up. THEN you drop the album. Which takes time

Drake dropped SFG at 22

Wiz dropped K&OJ at 22

Asap dropped LLA at 23

nas, big & snoop built up their buzzes before their albums, and they were around for years before their debuts.

drake, wiz & asap are all plants.

Yeah, but LL had a rap career in his teens. Society is making sure people are more immature than ever before and party 24/7 instead of focusing on issues that affect everybody.

Yeah Drake was the only true young superstar of the new dudes he was major at 22.

Sign of the times :manny:

Was at the Drake concert last night and I didn't realize how many hits to has or has been a part of. Dude is a prolific artist. He is going away from the game when he wants to TBH.
