Same thing happened when they lost to the Clippers in 2015 and as a #1 seed to the Grizzlies in 2011.

It is kind of weird but when you've won five titles within the last decade and a half I guess you're afforded that luxury. Also the current roster's legacy (minus Aldridge) was sealed when they won in 2014 so everything else after was kind of gravy in the eyes of many.

Yeah I think a lot of people saw the Spurs winning in 2014 was like "the last one" of the Duncan era, hell I thought Duncan could've retired then on a high note. So the following years in a way kinda felt like "an extra". In 2015 they lose against the Clippers in the best series of the damn playoffs so it's an upset but not really when you see the quality of the West, if anything it showed the stupidity of the NBA playoff ranking (didn't they make a change the following year?). And 2016 they lose in the semis but it's LMA's first year so it's some kind of "transition" era, and tbh I doubt many people expected them to win near 70 games to begin with.

Spurs one rings 16 years apart. Hard to criticize an organization with the consistency and stability they have. If they didn't have 5 rings it would be a different story but they do so it is hard to nitpick at a team with that many rings.

Probably because they have been the most consistent team in the past 15-18 yrs, no one ever expected them to have this sorta run. I mean I remember in 2011 and 2012 people or shall I say chumps saying they were old and washed up. Came damn close in 2013 and won it all in 2014

Gospursgo, we da best
Yeah. I remember fakkits like you in that same timeframe saying Duncan should be traded. fukk you bytch.

Because nobody gives a shyt about the Spurs outside SA.
Most people root for them only when they're playing against a team/player they hate.:manny:

they are a boring team that no one gives a fukk about. They also lost as a #1 seed to 8th seed no one cared
Tony Parker, while being with Eva Longoria, slept with a teammate's wife and nobody gave a fukk. No media pressure is one of the perks of playing in SA. But also the lack of pressure has hurt them when it comes to defending their titles.

if you remove race, there is no difference between the post superbowl presser and Pop's numerous pressers. Dont be emotional when responding, pull the videos on youtube

(while I agree Cam got more flack than deserved)

Pop is a clearly respected veteran coach, he's almost built a brand off being "difficult" (and has actually explained, fairly logically, why he does it) and is a known winner.

Cam is a young "arrogant" star. I get why he was pissed and there's a lot of factors in play, but pop exhibits the behavior of a "confident a$$hole" while cam just looked like an upset loser.

The biggest difference though is Pop is consistent... He's an a$$hole win or lose

Cam never would give an interview like that after a win, and not likely after a loss where he played extremely well
