Anybody still bragging about this brand lost. Of course clout chasers dont know any better. The brand is hot garbage now. Dumb tech, guady interior

The last best models were 2008 - 2016.

Living in a nice area now, I think more people are realizing luxury cars are stupid. Go for efficiency. Electric/hybrid cars are a lot more popular here now and show more sophistication/class. I think Tesla overall took a lot of drivers.

Edit:
The most owned and popular cars in Orange County, CA heavily feature the Toyota RAV4, Toyota Camry, Honda Accord, Honda Civic and Honda CR-V. Additionally, the Tesla Model Y has shown immense popularity along with the Lexus RX.
That is basically exactly what I see everyday at most houses.

The sedan def took a hit. Maybe the s series still hits.

The gls though still hits. And of course the g-wagon still tough.

No shyt the top of the line $200k trim is still good. Thats still a very bad excuse considering the quality you'd get 15 years ago after spending $75,000

And the G wagon is trash too tbh. Ruined the design, it looks too soft and feminine. Its baby momma status

Def fell off. They didn't manage the non flagship models well enough. Growing up you had the E class and CLS type cars that were still respectable models to get clout off of
Now it's just the SUVs which are basically babymama mobiles and the ultra expensive flagships like G wagon and S class. The SL and GT still exist but I maybe see 1 of those a year, don't think they are selling that well. Everything else is pretty much trash with zero badge value

I read from a lot of owners the interiors be squeaking.

If Im going luxury Im going BMW. Thats really the only luxury German these days. Even Audi looks ass.

There's some validity to this. A lot of luxury isn't really luxury anymore. I think Mercedes and BMW for that matter fell into "Rolex" territory, you have an item that people consider luxury, but kinda lost their allure because it's consistent design. Very little deviation from generation to generation. Tesla, Audi and the Japanese/Koreans make more interesting luxury cars because they have similar performance, slightly lower cost, and have more interesting designs.

BMW is geared more toward performance tbh. I’ve driven them all back to back competing models and all. Audi & Merc feel more luxurious than a Bimmer. The general consensus in the car community
says BMW actually took a step back (they ain’t wrong BMW’s last gen was beautiful design language especially the M2-M5’s). To each their own. You’re not wrong about Mercedes interior feeling cheaper tho, they def do and squeak (Audi’s squeak as well) unless you go with the AMG63 models. There’s no competition between an S Class & and 7 Series, the S walks it in every category.
