I love Wu-Tang Clan but I don't see how this work.

Wu-Tang Clan with the documentary is better off.

IMO, I think Wu-Tang would be dope with an amine movie. I think that could work.

a Wu Tang movie wouldnt work. Especially not a commercial hollywood one. Wu Tang is too left field and hip hop to be accurately portrayed in a film that would appeal to the general audience. and making it a BET movie or a straight to DVD film would only make the quality wack

i keep saying most of the hip hop stories we want to see as movies would really work excellently as a tv series in the same reall of The Wire or Narcos, something that takes place from 1985 to 2005, taking place in New York and maybe LA too. something with a good budget and great no name actors.

I can see that but I don't see with Wu-Tang Clan with tv series like you mentioned The Wire or Narcos....I don't see how that would work with Wu-Tang story for TV series. IMO for TV series, I think Def Jam could pull it off with the stories for TV series cause you have Public Enemy, Run DMC, Beasties Boys, LL Cool J, Slick Rick Rubin, Russell Simmons, etc with all these stories, shyt would work.

no, im saying it needs to be a tv series about the entire rap game of the 80s/90s. Wu Tang would just be a plotline, not main characters. Like the plotline would be about how Power, Divine and RZA got nikkas from different boroughs to join and create a rap group, to get out of the streets.

that angle would be genius, especialy considering the fact it would be a show mainly about how gangsters funded hip hop's early days. the main guys behind the scenes would be the main characters, the rappers would be the secondary characters

All right, I got you. I get it what you said, it would be brilliant but HBO'S already got a new show right now called "Vinyl".

Would have to be indie then. Hollywood tends to :duck:
Knowing Hollywood they might cast a bunch of cacs :mjlol::troll:

but imagine in a hundred or a thousand years.. if rap is still alive.. they will probably make films about hip hop and rappers and they'll be white :mjlol:

N.W.A. had a real impact on society, Wu-tang was more entertainment/culture/art.
NWA were also pioneers in the most important element of hiphop, specifically one that very relevant today. Social injustice, police brutality etc.

Let's see...

NWA has three of the biggest icons in rap history in Ice Cube, Dr. Dre, and Eazy-E...

They changed hip hop through their content and were huge figures in the late 80's. NWA is more influential than Wu-Tang, and I'm a far bigger Wu-Tang fan it is what it is.

What exactly is Wu-Tang's story? There isn't a compelling coherent story to be told. Cac Wu-Tang fans in here fooling themselves.

A TV series on Wu-Tang Clan beginning and rise to stardom would be better.

Eh... I mean it'd probably be a dope movie, but it's not quite the story that NWA's was. They went thru a lot as shown in the movie. Wu-Tang came together independently, got on, made some classic shyt, and had a great run... but I can't see that bein' a captivating feature film. I'd rather see a really in-depth Wu documentary movie like the ATCQ joint or Time is Illmatic... I'd be down to go see that.

I think the Wu-Tang story is a better fit as a 6 episode mini-series. But NWA was a seminal group, and to be fair they were really the first group of their kind, not to mentioned the shockwaves their existence made birthed a GOAT rapper, a GOAT producer, and hip-hop icon who left us too soon.

Too many individual stories to be able to make a movie out of. A documentary with a few episodes will be much better.

Non rap fans know who Dre and Cube are. It's that simple. Outside of rap, RZA has slight hollywood soundtrack buzz, but who knows Ghostface or Raekwon. I mean people might know Method Man. But NWA's umbrella of popularity spread beyond just rap. How many people have Beats Headphones? Cube has how many movies? People like Snoop, Em, 50, Bone, etc...spawned from NWA in some way. (you know what i mean). What has Wu tang done compared to that? Not even on no hating shyt, but Wu-tang is as big in hiphop terms, but beyond that it's not even close.

I always wondered why nobody made a tv series about 80's/90's hiphop where each season is about a certain like group/rapper/label and each season exists in the same "universe".

when you look back it's surprising the Wu-Tang movie never happened..they did everything else.
especially when they were so tight in with Ratner.

but eh....it just seems like something that would be doomed from the start.

the NWA story and how things unfolded is very adaptable for a movie...a clear arc.
seminal moments that happened...you can have your opinion on how it was done but if you look down the list they hit most of them.

as interesting as it could be...a Wu-Tang movie would be nightmare for everyone involved.

then if it was to come out there is no chance everyone will be pleased from members to fans..just look at this thread already.
most of the time they can't even get on the same page to make music never mind be satisfied with how the important story of their lives is portrayed.

a tv series on Netflix etc sounds better but even then...:patrice:
