Aside from the south having a ton of talent and the SEC being able to keep kids there you have to factor in that teams like Oklahoma and Nebraska went through some shyt with allowing recruits in who were committing felonies all types of shyt, they had to calm down on that, Notre Dame wouldn't allow in any recruits with a history either.

FSU, while ACC...still, they didn't give a fukk. Florida didn't give a fukk. etc... If you were a top athlete in the 90s through the first decade of the 2000s they would recruit anyone regardless of off field troubles.

I didn't realize Utah was pretty close to being AP champs in 2009 but by then ESPN SEC Propaganda was at an all time high
