How did yall find out there was no Santa?

i was about 7 or 8, we were driving home real late christmas eve, and i was all excited thinkin we could catch santa in the act when we got home we get home, and there was my present; a desk santa wouldnt give me no damn desk for christmas

My brother and I set a booby trap using bells and tinsel. We swore my mom would snitch us out so we didn't tell her the plan. Our room was right next to the living room so she had to becareful as it was but once we heard those bells go off we ran out to the living room and caught her red handed. She was standing there like . She tried lying saying Santa was running behind and needed her to help.

I give my mom credit though, we didn't have any money and there wasn't much under the tree but she tried her best to make the holidays special.
