And no - im not an atheist at all. I fully believe and talk to God/The Creator/higher power daily, just make my own rules of life with him, and do my best to be a kind person to everyone.
I don’t subscribe to any man-delivered religions or messages.
But how does everyone (my family, your family, etc) just gloss over the only reason we as Black folks follow the Christian religion is due to being beaten into it through Slavery and Colonialism. (Talking about the majority of us Americans, Caribbeans, Africans, not any ancient Ethiopians or whatnot with their own form of Christianity)
do we all just ignore/not even look at history?
Y’all spittin!!the responses
But lack of answers
Besides "it was passed down" so was Santa Claus but eventually you grew up and did you homework, what stopped y'all on Christianity?

This whole thing comes down to one thing and one thing only.. COGNITIVE DISSONANCE
• Cognitive dissonance:
The term cognitive dissonance is used to describe the mental discomfort that results from holding two conflicting beliefs, values, or attitudes.
Britain’s very first slaveship was even called The Jesus

In 1564 Queen Elizabeth I gave one of her ships, the Jesus of Lubeck, to a John Hawkins, the first British slave trader.

They literally had to BEAT and MANIPULATE Christianity into Black folks cause that wasn’t our religion.
Like how funerals and marriages weren’t allowed if they weren’t done in a Christian way FORCING many to adopt it during that time.

Imagine WILLINGLY putting your faith in the religion of your OPPRESSOR at this point when countless evidence is available showcasing it wasn’t for us.
