How do Black Christians rationalize the history of why they are Christian?

And no - im not an atheist at all. I fully believe and talk to God/The Creator/higher power daily, just make my own rules of life with him, and do my best to be a kind person to everyone.

I don’t subscribe to any man-delivered religions or messages.

But how does everyone (my family, your family, etc) just gloss over the only reason we as Black folks follow the Christian religion is due to being beaten into it through Slavery and Colonialism. (Talking about the majority of us Americans, Caribbeans, Africans, not any ancient Ethiopians or whatnot with their own form of Christianity)

do we all just ignore/not even look at history?
:picard: the responses
But lack of answers:mjgrin:

Besides "it was passed down" so was Santa Claus but eventually you grew up and did you homework, what stopped y'all on Christianity?
Y’all spittin!! :salute:

This whole thing comes down to one thing and one thing only.. COGNITIVE DISSONANCE

• Cognitive dissonance:

The term cognitive dissonance is used to describe the mental discomfort that results from holding two conflicting beliefs, values, or attitudes.

Britain’s very first slaveship was even called The Jesus :scusthov:
In 1564 Queen Elizabeth I gave one of her ships, the Jesus of Lubeck, to a John Hawkins, the first British slave trader.

Google Scholar

They literally had to BEAT and MANIPULATE Christianity into Black folks cause that wasn’t our religion.

Like how funerals and marriages weren’t allowed if they weren’t done in a Christian way FORCING many to adopt it during that time.

Imagine WILLINGLY putting your faith in the religion of your OPPRESSOR at this point when countless evidence is available showcasing it wasn’t for us. :scusthov:

Black people can be Christians, but as a group, we have the least to gain by being part of this farce. I mean, even Jews, who don't believe in Jesus get billions of dollars in aid from the USA, a whole country to themselves, reparations, nuclear weapons, and a pass to oppress Palestinians. When you think about it, it's really wild how Christianity is weaponized politically. The same Christians in the bible belt who send millions in aid to Israel won't even give up their confederate flags and statues for their fellow Christians, who happen to be black and Americans. It is really a brilliant scam.
Scripture doesn't say you shouldnt protect yourself.

Black atheists are just commies in disguise and the other spiritual beliefs are just a remnant of the last world religion that was destroyed

white man's bible yet Jesus Christ(Yeshua Hamachiach) is described as being a person of color:jbhmm:

Revelation 1:15
His feet were like burnished bronze, refined in a furnace, and his voice was like the roar of many waters.

Revelation 1:13-14
And in the midst of the lampstands one like a son of man, clothed with a long robe and with a golden sash around his chest. The hairs of his head were white, like white wool, like snow. His eyes were like a flame of fire,

Ezekiel 40:3
When he brought me there, behold, there was a man whose appearance was like bronze, with a linen cord and a measuring reed in his hand. And he was standing in the gateway.

I’m not.

I follow the religion that my ancestors followed, one out of respect for them, two because I understand religion on a deep enough level to be at peace with that.

I’m almost 100% certain none of you retards would get that.

The only way you can show respect to your family lineage is through religion?
