How do Black Christians rationalize the history of why they are Christian?

My grandparents grew up during Jim Crow
I’ll give them a pass for blindly worshiping the white mans god
Any body young on that tip in 2021 tho :dead:
And the worst imo are the super Christian Africans :scust:
At least my family had knowledge of self stripped from them and got brainwashed
Y’all actually know y’all traditions and still with the white Christian program even after the colonizers left :snoop:

The thing about religion is that people follow it almost entirely due to emotional attachment and social pressure.

You could spend all day making logical arguments that it's made up, but people are just too attached to even want to hear that no matter how true it is. :yeshrug:

I don't know. Do the majority of ados Christians people know Jesus is black in 2021 I would assume so.

Everyone with a white jesus poster on their wall is probably on their way out

So y’all advanced to a black man... named Jesus

And no - im not an atheist at all. I fully believe and talk to God/The Creator/higher power daily, just make my own rules of life with him, and do my best to be a kind person to everyone.

I don’t subscribe to any man-delivered religions or messages.

But how does everyone (my family, your family, etc) just gloss over the only reason we as Black folks follow the Christian religion is due to being beaten into it through Slavery and Colonialism. (Talking about the majority of us Americans, Caribbeans, Africans, not any ancient Ethiopians or whatnot with their own form of Christianity)

do we all just ignore/not even look at history?
The same thing I think about having a western last name and not an african one. My family got rid of that slave name

Because that is an absurd reduction.

The 'only' reason.

I come from two different worlds. I have the point of view of a man born and raised in the African tradition. I also have intimate knowledge on the perspective of the more advanced parts of the world. What I will say is this. There is a God. And yes he does have favorites. Nobody knows how or why he determines who he’s going to favor but he definitely cares more about some than others.

Black people in general, especially the Africans have taken religion as the end all be all. People really go through life believing if u just pray enough times , god will give u want you want. But obviously the rest of the advanced world, by and large, don’t think this way. That is why they’re advanced.

I will not disrespect any religion because it is my fervent belief that they are all of divine origin. Whether it be the doctrines of Krishna, the teachings of Islam and the Revelation of the Jewish/Christian God.

It is my hope that one day Africans will learn to stop the heavy reliance on the hopeful intervention of a supernatural being. And instead focus on making a solemn decision to be the driver of their own destinies.

Well Jesus is a Greek name. His name is Yeshua or Joshua in english, brother.

Stop rebelling or you will be humbled.
