You expecting a kid who grew up dirt poor fresh out of college that has had everything handed to him since his sophomore year of high school to understand how to manage millions of dollars? It's grown people who get paid to manage millions of dollars that can't manage millions of dollars.

Some of these dudes have the intelligence and libido of 8th graders, they're never going to be Nelson Rockefeller or J.P. Morgan. The downfall is inevitable most of the time.

Living above your means is a factor as well.

My cousins best friend played in the NBA. He made millions over the course of his career but lives like a guy who makes 100k a year.

He's got a decent house, a v8 dodge challenger, etc and most of the money he made in the NBA is in the bank for his family and his kids when they grow up.

Just like you have guys who make $50k a year tryna live like someone who makes $100k a year, you got guys who make $5million a year but try to live like someone making $50 million a year.

Just because you have the $750,000 to buy an aventador cash doesn't mean you should.

Those checks will stop coming eventually then what do you do once that happens? That money isn't just for right now but for the rest of your life.

Some of these dudes don't understand that and try to live like a rapper who's life is fabricated.

its amazing how Pippen was the 5th highest player on the BULLS around 96-97, getting paid 5 million for that year, they should do a 30 for 30 on THAT alone! The disrespect, Jerry gave no f*cks :russ:

30 for 30 : Pimpin' Pippen

Because you get accustomed to a certain lifestyle. If you spend a few mill a year when your no longer making money your cash driees up.

Remember that average NFL career is only 3 years and even if you play 10-15 years in any sport you'll be under 40 before you retire.

Won't get the pension for a few years now what do you do?

Unless you can get a analyst gig or coaching gig more than likely money stops coming in at the rate you were used to
