Have more actual conversations/interactions and less online ones.

1 trick I can offer if you're used to texting or chatting online a lot is to treat your real life conversations like a chat/text session. When you speak, "see" the words coming out of your mouth.

Be more social. You can't develop social skills sitting in the house asking people online about it. If you feel you have issues having conversations, go around a different group of people with common interests. Eventually you find people you like to talk to.

Relax. Listen more. Try to get people to talk. Read.

I hate that I have to do most of the talking but I guess people like listening to me rant randomly.

Just be aware of how other people are feeling and guide them to a good time. Ta-da!

Realize that most people don't give a fukk just like you. Stop giving a fukk. And if someone unimportant says something u disagree with say "ok" and keep it moving. Never be afraid to be wrong. Say whatever you want all the time and if it goes south apologize or flee.

Its hard breh, some people can recognize they need to improve that area and then like a light switch turn it on and off. But for those of us ( I go back and forth with this) that aren't like that it literally takes making yourself uncomfortable speaking when you normally wouldn't and just holding a convo with anyone no matter how long or short.

If you want to practice go to any spot with a bar and waiter's and waitresses. Those are always good spots to build up your comfort levels because they are pretty much paid to hold some kind of conversation with you if you initiate it. And what does it matter if they do or don't enjoy the convo or think your cool or not? For the most part they are just trying to get through there work shift.

Also in my experience its easy to fall back into that lull of being really introverted if you stop interacting with people for any short amounts of time, then you have to restart the whole process again and it just gets harder and harder, its kinda like when you take antibiotics over and over and your body builds up resistant to them. So you want to keep speaking up and commenting as much as you can...eventually it'll become more second nature.

Get this book. Someone else already posted it.

Social skills will 100% get you further in your career and no matter how smart you are, the better you are with people the further you will go.

I used to be very anti social and the only way to be social is to practice. Luckily I'm in a job where I have to entertain clients at least once every 2 weeks so I'm forced to be social. I actually enjoy it now but sometimes I hate it, pointless conversation.

Nnbody here is gonna be able to walk you through this. Its something you're gonna have to overcome yourself. You can watch all the YouTube vids on this subject you want, but at some point you're just gonna have to throw yourself into the water and either sink or swim
